Roger Ebert of the Chicago Sun Times called it "Scary, Funny, Sexy and Exiting!" and Liz Smith of the New York Post declared it as "One of the Best Movies in 1996". The Stellar cast includes John P. Ryan (Runaway Train), Christopher Meloni (TV's Law & Order and Oz) and legendary director Richard C. Sarafian (Vanishing Point) as the mob boss. Alfonso Arau's handsome The Magnificent Ambersons, based on Orson Welles's original screenplay, is a brave attempt to restore the dramatic scenes lost when RKO radically recut Welles's magnificent 1941 masterpiece, but it's less a remake than a new take on the material. Bruce Greenwood makes a gracious and sincere Eugene Morgan, the inventor who woos heiress Isabel Amberson (a vibrant Madeleine Stowe) and finds his rival is her spoiled, arrogant son, George (played with sneering, bug-eyed intensity by Jonathan Rhys Meyers). It hits a few sour notes (notably Meyers and a terribly miscast Jennifer Tilly as the jealous Aunt Fanny), but the "new" scenes explore the sprawl of the city, the falling fortunes of the Amberson dynasty, and the almost incestuous intimacy between mother and son only hinted at in Welles's compromised version. It may lack the grand design and cinematic grace of Welles, but it creates its own gentle take on Booth Tarkington's turbulent novel.

Corky (Gina Gershon), a lesbian ex-con who has just finished a five year jail sentence, arrives at an apartment building to start work as a plumber and decorator. On the way up to the apartment she encounters the couple that live next-door, Violet (Jennifer Tilly) and Caesar (Joe Pantoliano). Shortly after Corky starts work, Violet asks Corky to help her retrieve an earring from her sink. Corky extracts the earring and Violet gives her a beer in return. Violet admits she lost the earring on purpose, and begins to seduce Corky.

When the notoriously evil Chucky doll and his lover gave birth, they had no idea that their spawn would grow up to be a peace-loving kind of guy; however, that's exactly what Glen turns out to be: a gentle soul who is horrified at what he has been told about his family. After hearing the news of a film being made about his parents' murderous legacy, Glen sets off for Hollywood, where he promptly brings Chucky and Tiffany back to life. Far from diving into doting fatherhood, Chucky is seriously disappointed in his son's lack of inherent evil and tries his best to impart his vast knowledge of all things malevolent before Glen becomes some sort of do-gooder.

Elsewhere, Tiffany finds that she will be played by Jennifer Tilly in their movie and doesn't hesitate to let her son in on their family's most cherished tradition -- killing sprees. Directed by Don Mancini, Seed of Chucky features Brad Dourif returning as the voice of Chucky, while Tilly plays both herself and Tiffany. The offspring of the evil pair, Glen, is voiced by Lord of the Rings star Billy Boyd. Cult film director John Waters also makes an appearance, as does hip-hop artist Redman.

The world's most notorious doll, Chucky, meets his match--in more ways than one when his ex-girlfriend Tiffany embarks on a mission to get him back into her life so that they can wed. To do this, they must go to Hackensack, New Jersey, exhume Chucky's human body, recover the soul transferring amulet that was buried along with it, and find a couple of compatible body donors. Enter teenage newlyweds Jesse and Jade, two young lovers-on-the-lam who become the evil duo's unwitting accomplices. The wedding party hits the highway and what ensues is a road trip filled with murder, music, mayhem, love and betrayal.
