In Tim Burton's stylish, creepy retelling of the classic Washington Irving story, Sleepy Hollow, Ichabod Crane (Johnny Depp) is a squeamish, bookish 18th century New York City investigator sent to a small town in lower Westchester county to look into three mysterious decapitations. When the always rational Crane arrives at the little Dutch village, he finds that most of the townsfolk believe the culprit to be the Headless Horseman, the ghost of a monstrous Hessian soldier (Christopher Walken), who seems to be mysteriously tied in to one of the town's most prominent families. Burton's natural instincts for campy humor, combined with the hauntingly gorgeous technical work (Emmanuel Lubezki's cinematography and Danny Elfman's score included), collide to create a work of exhilarating entertainment and poetic storytelling. Miranda Richardson, Casper Van Dien and Christina Ricci help make up an ensemble cast that, combined with the historically accurate village sets and dreamlike magic of the haunted Western Woods--created on the largest sound stage in film history--makes Sleepy Hollow a visually stunning, gripping, and, at times, chilling film.

The movie is loosely based on the novel Starship Troopers by Robert A. Heinlein. Starship Troopers tells the story of an interplanetary war between Earth and colonies of large insect-like aliens in the twenty-third century. It focuses on the experiences of Juan "Johnny" Rico (Van Dien), one of three friends who sign up to the military one year before Earth declares war on the aliens.

Thrill Seekers

Tom Merrick works as a TV reporter when he’s nearly killed in an accident while informing about a fire in a power plant. The sight of a creepy-looking man leaving the place accidentally saves his life, but gets another reporter killed in his place. After some time, he decides to do some research on catastrophes for a documentary he’s preparing when he accidentally stumbles upon several pictures of the man at the power plant who appears to turn up in different disasters as far apart as 50 years, but who still looks the same in all the pictures.

He goes deeper into the mystery and ends up discovering that a futuristic enterprise —Thrill Seekers— will make time travel possible in the future and will sell trips to the past. These trips consist of travelers going straight to a catastrophe right before it happens, so they can experience the emotion but are able to travel back in time again before they get killed. Thanks to that knowledge, Merrick is able to save a plane from crashing and killing hundreds of people. Unfortunately, this type of discoveries endangers the very fabric of space-time and his own life, when Thrill Seekers sends a couple of agents to find and kill him.
